DYC's Corny Night and a Movie

Good Day DYC Members and Friends,

This weekend is our DYC Cornucopia Regatta and in the past (before my time 🙂 ) it was a weekend long of festivities with Racers coming from around the lake, food, music and fun times for all.

We've got racing scheduled Saturday afternoon followed by dinner and live music in the evening. We have some boats coming from other clubs making up a fleet race and we hope to grow back to a full weekend of races and entertainment for all in years to come.

In that spirit, it was suggested by members that maybe we can have a movie night and that idea just a few days ago has crown into this...

West Docks Meet East Docks Meet Social Members

Meet at C Yard (you know, the one with the big red travel lift)

Not everyone, not even me, knows each other and so this can be a great way to meet one an other and begin more social events like this as we move into our ... dare I say it, off season 🙁. Can I ask for a few of our newer members to volunteer to walk around with nametags and a marker to have folks put their name, West / East / Social and Boat Name. This will allow our new members to mingle with some of the regulars and break the ice.

We'll start the evening with FOOD, I'll coordinate the Corn Rost but could use a volunteer or two to help Leah and I prepare the corn and butter station. If anyone would like to bring a dish to add to the food by all means, let me know and we'll organize some space.

We've been challenging one another to a Corn Hole competition for some time now well this is your chance to get all the bragging rights West Docks Vs. East Docks Vs. Social Members. We have 2 sets of corn hole boards already one from East and another from West, but if anyone else has a set they would like to bring please do. I'm looking for a couple of volunteers to help keep track of who's playing and more importantly who's winning 🙂 Please let me know if this is something you would like to help with.

Starting around 8:30 or so, Popcorn and a Movie will begin with a family friendly movie, Lightyear and then followed by a Corny boating movie Captain Ron. We've got a supplier for the popcorn but could maybe use some help with setting up and running the Audio Video. If this is something you can help us with please let me know.

Music before the movies and perhaps around the fire would be a nice touch, if anyone wants to bring a musical instrument and a song sheet that would be the cherry on top of what is sure to be a great long weekend.
