The Dalhousie Yacht Club weekend comprises two days of racing: Saturday to DYC and then Sunday is a race back to PCYC from DYC.
Since 1975, the Lake Ontario Short Handed Racing Series (LOSHRS) Committee has been organizing multi-division single-and double-handed distance and offshore keelboat races of all sizes and ratings on Lake Ontario.
With 6 races organized annually and each race attracting approximately 50 sailboats, as many as 130+ entries participate each year.
Whether you opt to race single- or double-handed, you’ll experience the thrill of sailing short-handed and enjoy the unique camaraderie of fellow short-handed sailors.
Race Series courses range from 20 to 100 nautical miles; from Lake Ontario crossings to overnight sailing. Each bringing new experiences and lessons learned.
Whether you opt to race solo or double-handed, you will likely learn a great deal about yourself and your boat over a couple of distance races on Lake Ontario, bringing new experiences and lessons navigating into a different corner of Lake Ontario.
