Sailpast 2020
Although sailpast typically signifies the beginning of the boating season at the DYC, our Members, their families and friends are encouraged to participate in this, the only organized event of the year.

All members are welcome and encouraged to participate in this event! Â Registration required by Sept. 16, 2020 so that your boat and crew can be acknoledged as you sailpast and salute the FLAG.
It is important to note that physical distancing will continue to be observed as per our "New Normal".Â
Tradition dictates that all club members participate in the Sailpast, on their own or on another member’s yacht. Good manners require that a member unable to participate will send his/her regrets to the Commodore.
2:45 PM
All boats to be anchored or drifting on the Lake on the lee side of Port Dalhousie Piers, East or West depending on wind direction for Blessing of the Fleet.
3:00 PM
The Flag Vessel will circle the fleet, then anchor & the Blessing will be conducted.Â
3:30 PM
The Flag Vessel will return to the harbour & tie on the wall outside the clubhouse. The Flag Officers will accept the salute infront of our club house patio
3:45 PM
All boats to follow in an orderly fashion, allow about 2 boat lengths between boats, past the Flag who will accept the salute. Your boat will be announced so please register. At this point your boat will be judged for Best Decorated & Best Dressed Crew, use whatever theme you wish, Creativity counts!! (Decoration is not mandatory but encouraged.) After the salute please return to your slip and then join the festivities at the clubhouse.
